Green Nawarat Bridge for St. Patrick’s Day

For the first time in history, the Nawarat Bridge Chiang Mai has turned green, only for St Patrick’s Day, the National Day of Ireland!, 17 March 2021. A symbol of friendship between Ireland and Thailand and all people across the world. More than 70 million people around the world claim links to the island of Ireland and St Patrick’s Day is a truly unique opportunity to reconnect them with their heritage as well as welcoming new and returning visitors, business people and students. 2021 also marks 47 years of highly valued diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and Ireland. This is a Global Greening initiative in partnership with the Embassy of Ireland in Thailand and the with the generous support of Office of the Governor of Chiang Mai, Mr. Charoenrit Sanguansat, Nawarat Bridge joins other important icons in being lit up in green, such as the Sydney Opera House, Wat Arun, the Eiffel Tower,Niagra Falls, the Great Wall of China, the Thailand Cultural Centre, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, amongst hundreds of others.
