Dibba Yana Chitta Museum Officially Opens at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, Marking the First Anniversary of the Iconic Dibba Yana Chitta, heavenly Boat, Designed by Master Artist Chalermchai Kositpipat
Chiang Mai, 27 November 2025 — Anantara Chiang Mai Resort proudly announces the official opening of the Dibba Yana Chitta Museum, commemorating the first anniversary of Dibba Yana Chitta — the heavenly boat and an extraordinary floating masterpiece inspired by Lanna heritage and the spirit of Siam. The vessel is the visionary creation of Thailand’s revered master artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat, celebrated globally for Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple of Chiang Rai.
Presiding over the ceremony was Mr. Rattaphol Naradisorn, Governor of Chiang Mai, who graciously officiated the event. Guests were also honoured by the presence of Chalermchai Kositpipat, who shared the artistic philosophy behind the museum and the creative journey that brought this singular vessel to life.
Within the museum, visitors will discover nine intricately crafted scale models of Dibba Yana Chitta, each presented in a distinct colourway, alongside curated memorabilia. The exhibition pays homage to the artistry of Chalermchai Kositpipat and Charoen Maboot, a master bronze-casting artisan from Phayao province. Together, they brought forth the world’s only Dibba Yana Chitta — a creation intended to inspire and preserve the essence of Thai artistic heritage for generations to come.
To celebrate this milestone, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort unveiled the limited-edition Dibba Yana Chitta Collector’s Edition — an exclusive series of only 19 handcrafted models. These collectible pieces offer art connoisseurs a rare opportunity to own an objet d’art infused with spiritual depth and the exquisite beauty of Thai craftsmanship.
The launch event unfolded in an atmosphere of refined elegance, accompanied by contemporary Lanna musical performances and thoughtfully curated food and beverage offerings by Anantara Chiang Mai Resort. Guests and media enjoyed an enchanting evening on the resort’s front lawn, embraced by serene river breezes and timeless Lanna ambience.
Dibba Yana Chitta is one of three vessels in Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s JAO Ping River Cruise fleet, offering immersive journeys along the Mae Ping River. Experiences include the Morning Voyage to Wat Ket Karam and its historic riverside community, the indulgent Afternoon Tea Cruise, the picturesque Sunset Cruise, and the signature Dibba Yana Chitta Dinner Cruise — complete with live music, classical dance, and a refined fine-dining menu.
The dinner cruise features a newly launched menu crafted by Michelin-starred Chef Boy Piyachart Phuttawong of Saneh Jaan in Bangkok. Drawing inspiration from royal recipes of the early Rattanakosin period and harmonising them with Chiang Mai’s local flavours, the menu is now available to welcome the festive season.
The Dibba Yana Chitta Museum welcomes visitors daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm by reservations. Guests may explore the exhibition, purchase memorabilia, or reserve a Collector’s Edition model.
