CityNews – 20th March 2020, Rattapol Naradisorn, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai along with many other leaders as well as an army of 150 personnel visited entertainment venues last night, as it was the first night of enforced closure, according to the governor’s decree announced on the 18th March.
The aim was to make sure of compliance and that everyone understood the severity and importance of this measure. According to the deputy governor, the aim was to make sure that all business operators had the opportunity to ask questions and to help them to follow the law.
Authorities warn that if they find other areas which attract many people, they may have to adjust the decree and expand it to include other places of gathering as well. So best to self-distant yourselves and avoid crowds.
