Ancient House Chiangmai Open House

August 27

Asset World Corporation, an asset development company under TCC Group, has renovated a 150 year old house by the Ping River into a mall and named it, quite aptly, the Ancient House Chiangmai. This 170 million baht project aims to preserve the house which is a symbol of the city’s cultural heritage and golden past as a thriving centre of trade. The corporation has also developed Asiatique: The Riverfront, in Bangkok, and has built three additional buildings in Chiang Mai using the Huan Pae design which is referenced from stores in the Wat Gate neighborhood. The Ancient House Chiangmai is presented as the ‘cultural antique mall’ and currently is home to the renowned restaurant and chocolate house, The Chocolate Factory. Other shops in the mall include Doi Kham, Elephant Parade, ROC (Royal Orchid Collection), and Kinaree, The gallery of Asia and Thai Craft. The general manager of the Asset World Advisory, northern region, stated that the mall has received support of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chiang Mai Office, along with a network of hotels in the city, and is expected to earn around 20 million baht a year.
