CityNews – More than 50 farmers from Ban Buak Ha Moo 18, Jomthong, joined together and expressed their opposition of a solar power factory in their area as it may “affect the weather,” reducing the fruitfulness of their trees.
The solar factory is being built in Ban Nuaj Ha, where most of the residents are Longan farmers. The small protest at City Hall was based on the understanding that the solar factory may affect the fruitfulness of their Longan trees.
They first complained to the Banpae Municipality but they had no response.
Puttipong Sirimat Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai and Burin Jaijina, Deputy of Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Chiang Mai met with the group and talked with them.
