CityNews – Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, talks about his 64th birthday on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIjr9uLPF_4
Here are some highlights from his talk:
“I am now 64. I was expelled out of Thailand when I was 57 and came back to Thailand when I was 59. However, when I was 60, I had to leave Thailand again and I spent my life here. The most important thing is that people never forget me. They make merit for me and wish me to come back Thailand. So, Thank you,” said the ex-prime minister.
“For over seven years in abroad, I have learned and seen many things which make me miss Thailand. The bad thing of living abroad is I miss my family who I used to live with. I feel lonely and homesick. Sometimes I try not to think because I have lots of thing to do. I often receive Thai food from Thai people who have visited me in Dubai. I have not slept in Thailand for a long time and I miss that time so much. I have to be patient and think that I have to work,” added Thaksin.
“I worry about Thailand. Many things are fixable and unfixable because of the unreliability of people. If we turn ourselves and talk to each other, we can make the unity. We talk like Thais and speak Thai how to solve the problem and mainly concern on the nation. I am very confident that Thailand will become civilized again. It is what I would like to see,” he ended his conversation.
