A 28 year old woman made a report yesterday at Chiang Mai Police Station after being conned online.
According to the woman, she had ordered a second hand Celine handbag which was selling online for 40,500 baht (new is 45,000 baht), after being sent a photograph of proof of authenticity. However, when her package arrived all she was sent was a hand gel, food supplements and a small hand mirror, totaling around 500 baht. She told police she had made her purchase off the Facebook page Kiki Brandnamee, transferring money straight into the seller’s account.
Police have reached out to the media with this report to warn the public of online scams.
