CityNews – September 30th, villagers in Sarapee District recently held a ceremony offering joss sticks, candles, sweet drinks, and coins to an anthill, around 6 inches high, which sits on a stone pillar at an intersection in Sarapee District, in front of Ban Suphan cemetery.

Villagers claim that the anthill looks like a Buddha image while doing meditation.

A local man, Intha Kawi-in, 64, told CityNews that he had just seen the anthill the night before, and he had worshipped it to ask for blessings. He was amazed by the shape of the anthill, which, to him, appears like a Buddha image.

Villagers believe the anthill is holy as it was formed on the stone pillar instead of on trees or dried branches around.
