Two Suspects Arrested for Trespassing In National Forest

CityNews – Two people were arrested for trespassing and illegally digging land which is part of Obluang National Park, behind Lai Duang Chan village, Nakorreua sub-district.


The inspection, carried out by the head of patrol officers of The National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department and military personnel, followed a tip-off from local villagers who noticed a group of people bringing in equipment and trucks.

Two people were arrested for arrogating and destroying national preserved forest, and identified as Duangchan Panpanapraisan and Udom Sailomyen.

They told police that they were hired by local business in the area and were paid at least 500,000 baht.

Police seized a backhoe, a plow, and a six-wheeled truck. 10 rai of land was found to be damaged by previous work.

Police did not release the name of the businesses but claim they are currently involved with several illegal cases and have great influence.

The two suspects await prosecution.
