CityNews – Raks Mae Ping Facebook page had posted that the recent discovery by the media and society at large, of the construction of luxury houses and other residences on the foothills of Doi Suthep by the justice department, is causing great concern.

They have offered authorities involved to consider the below points:

1. In many countries the zoning of a city or town is carefully planned in order to give consideration to the environement and to nature, not with policy interest or personal interest of any particular groups. The city zoning and planning needs to be restructured with not just law, but vision in mind.
2. Urging the Treasury Department to review the three kilometres of foothills it oversees and consider returning the land to the Royal Forest Department or National Park.
3. The ‘slither of noodle’ land that the Justice Department is currently building on must never have development anywhere around it. This must be the last piece of land in the area to be developed.
4.Legislate to protect “every tree” to belong to the public. The law must make the process of cutting down trees harder.
