Storms, Rain and Hail Damage Chiang Mai

CityNews – In the evening of 2nd May, a rainstorm hit many areas of Chiang Mai and left quite a bit of damage in its wake.


In front of Baan Tor Market, a big tree collapsed over some electrical wires. In Baan Tadue in Sanpheesue sub-district, many houses were damaged by the storm.

On the Second Ring Road, about two kilometers away from the City Hall, a 20 X 25 metre roof frame from Konwhan Country Restaurant collapsed on the road. The incident caused a serious traffic jam before it was removed two hours later. In Samoeng District, on the outskirts of Chiang Mai city, hail covered Samoeng – Mae Rim Road, causing crop damage for strawberry farmers.
