South Korean cyclist funeral held

CityNew – 3rd January 2020, parents and friends of Eom Se-beom, a 19 year old South Korean cyclist, attended his funeral at a temple in Mae Rim.

Asian champion, Eon Se-beom had been training in Chiang Mai in preparation of the 2022 Asian Games as well as the 2024 Paris Olympics, when he was hit by a pick up truck as he was cycling up the Mae Rim- Samoeng Road, later succumbing to his injuries.

The minister of Tourism and Sports Thailand expressed deep regrets over the loss of Eon Se-beom, ensuring all athletes, Thai and international, that Thailand welcomes them here and will support them in any way.

Evidence is currently being gathered by the police to find out whether the pickup truck was guilty in this accident.
