CityNews – Songtaews filed a petition against the ride sharing service again.

A group of songtaew and tuk tuk drivers led by Korn Karnkanokphorn gathered at Chiang Mai Provincial Land Transport Office on August 22nd to file a petition against the ride sharing business in Chiang Mai. This is the third official complaint that songtaews have filed to authorities this year. This relentless move is to pressure authorities to take measures against the ride sharing business which has not yet been made legal in Thailand. Songtaews are now threatening to sue the Department of Land Transport for neglecting to enforce the law.
