The pickup truck’s driver escaped after the incident, however, an investigation and CCTV footage revealed the driver of the pick-up to be Nirut Komit, of Chiang Mai’s Sanpeesuer sub-district. Nirut admitted to the crime, and will be prosecuted.

Yesterday morning, Pratchaya Kantawee, gave a flower basket to Mae Ping police as a thank you gift for arresting the suspect who hit his mother and grandmother, Nongluck and Bualoy.

Police Colonel Nateepat Akarapongthiti, superintendent of Mae Ping police Station, said this case should make people aware that police can arrest reckless drivers and that people should drive more safely. He mentioned that Songkran Festival is on its way and so drivers should take extra care to abide by all traffic rules.
