Orange farm investors prosecuted for National Park encroachment

CityNews – Seven investors have been prosecuted for forest encroachment.

On September 3rd, a team of forest rangers and forestry officials raided lands in Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park after a report on forest encroachment. Seven unnamed orange farm investors have been prosecuted. The team found activities on eight pieces of land covering a total of 163 rai and 33 sq. wah that are in violation of the Forest Act, B.E. 2484 which includes encroaching the national park, blocking natural water streams, clearing the land without permission, and occupying the land without permission.
