The driver of the damaged truck, Sangwan Nanta, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rescue officers took around four hours to retrieve three injured people from the mangled vehicle. One passenger was severely injured, and all passengers were immediately sent to Wiang Pa Pao Hospital.

The tree’s branches also caused damage to another pickup truck that was driving behind the severely damaged truck.

According to Sompon Saenkam, who was in another truck that was unscathed from the accident, the convoy of four trucks was on their way for an educational trip to an organic coffee farm.
