One Dead, 20 Injured in Tak-Mae Sod Bus Crash

CityNews – On Thrusday 24th April a group of foreign workers heading to Bangkok were involved in an accident where one person died and many were injured when the bus carrying them overturned on a Doi Ruak, Tak – Mae Sod route.

Pol. Lt. Bamrung Yomkeard, Inquiry Official of Mae Tor Police Station, Tak Province, received a call about an accident on the Doi Ruak, Mae Sod – Tak Route, Tambon Mae Tor, Amphur Mueng Tak. He and the rescue team went to the scene where they found the bus overturned on the roadside.

There were 60 passengers on the bus who were all immigrants. One of them died, identified as Chain Noimee, 57 years old, and another woman was seriously injured. More than 20 other people were wounded as a result of the crash.

The rescue team took the injured to Somdelphrajao Taksinmaharaj Hospital, Amphur Mueng Tak.

Police said that an investigation revealed that the immigrants on the bus had a VISA and a work permit.

Accidents at Doi Ruak frequently happen, with the biggest accident and lost of life during a student tour in March 2014 that resulted in 31 people dead, and several others injured.
