CityNews – Chiang Mai University Faculty of Engineering, The National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) Ministry of Science and Technology, will co-host the Northern Robot Design Contest (RDC) on March 23rd from 10:30am – 9:00pm at third floor of Central Airport Plaza. This is Thailand’s 7th annual robotic competition.
The competition is aimed to help students learn about robots, autonomous systems, programming and electrical circuits, and to encourage more research in electrical engineering and related fields. The national RDC will be at Pantip Plaza in Bangkok on May 24th. The 2014 International Design Contest (IDC) Robocon will be on July 14-26 in Morocco with participants from Brazil, the United States, Japan, France, South Korea, China, Singapor, Morocco and Thailand.
In the past few years, RDC had collaborated with regional institutions to host the regional contests. They are open to university and vocational students. In 2013, four students from Thailand participated in IDC Robocon in Brazil.
