Loy Krathong 2019 has come and gone

CityNews – 12 November 2019, on the night of the 10th November at Tha Pae Gate, Charoenrit Sa-nguansat, Chiang Mai governor, was chairman in the formal opening ceremony of Yi Peng (Loy Krathong) Chiang Mai 2019, under the concept of “Visiting Chiang Mai Yi Peng to continue Lanna tradition without giant firecrackers and alcohol-free.”  The festival (9 – 12 November), was held by relevant authorities in local administrative office, TAT, and relevant network.

Interesting decorative floats joined the annual contest.  Other interesting activities included Yi-peng little lord / goddess (children) contest, releasing of floating Krathong into the river, worshiping a famous Lanna Monk (Phra Siri Mangalajarn) and sharing in making merits (Hom Poy in Lanna language.)
