A townhouse on Mahidol Road was raided over the weekend and a 41 year old Japanese man arrested for possession of marijuana plants.
Police found the first floor of the building to be the processing area where packaging and production tools were found, while the top two floors were filled with hydroponic marijuana plants found in individual pots.
Police say that they were alerted to this bust by a proliferation of social media advertisements selling marijuana to foreign residents of Chiang Mai. Many different units of police worked together to find the location of the illegal business.
