Fishing in the moat as it dries out

CityNews – On the evening of 14th December 2019, as Chiang Mai municipality drained part of the moat in Chang Phueak area in order to divert in new water, that area was temporarily drained and all the fish clearly visible, leadinig to locals rushing to catch Catfish, tilapia, Thai carp, and snake-head fish.


Though fishing is illegal in the moat, no authorities were present to stop on rush as many people left with sacks of fish.
