CityNews – A fatal accident on a road towards Doi Intanon saw a family suffer three dead and two in hospital with severe injuries after falling over ten meters.
34-year-old Nattapong Ob-un was traveling home with his family after attending his own wedding ceremony in Mae Hong Son the previous day.
They decided to visit the mountain on the way home.
On a steep mountain road halfway up Doi Intanon, Nattapong lost control of the pickup on a sharp curve and crashed over the barrier, falling over ten meters.
Nattapong’s mother and two of his relatives, 40-year-old Supakorn Ruangnarong and 78-year-old Sanong Pengjan died as a result of the accident.
Nattapong and his 58-year-old father, Lim Ob-un, were severely injured and have been taken to Chom Thong hospital.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the breaks of the pickup failed, causing the driver to lose control.
