Faculty of Business Plants 300 Rare Orchids

Citynews – Last weekend, June 18 – 19, The Faculty of Business, Chiang Mai University took students to the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden to plant 300 rare orchids as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility Project.

The faculty wants to extend knowledge towards consciousness towards society and the environment. The “Corporate Social Responsibility Project” or “CRS Project” is now a requirement for graduation.

The orchids grown in the project included Vanda Coerulea, Dendrobium Crumenatum, Dendrobium Secundum, Dendrobium Chrysotoxum, Dendrobium Moschatum, Dendrobium Primulinum, and Eria Ornata. These species are now hard to be found in Thailand and they are listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora or CITES.
