CityNews – On 20th November at around 11 a.m. Region 5 Police announced the arrest of suspected drug dealers, and their intention to search for more suspects.
The arrests were made on 18th and 19th November in Phrae Province. The suspects are Pasit Songnamchai (25), Wattana Chanyadutsanee (27), Thanayut Saengseeskailert (28), Nueng Seeya (33), Thanapan Kulprom (23), and Manop Kongkana (26). One suspect fled the scene of arrest and is yet to be caught.
The police sequestrated 94,000 amphetamine pills, a Honda car, four motorcycles, and nine mobile phones from the group. It is believed that they were hired at a price of 100,000 baht to deliver the drugs from Mae Sai to Phitsanulok. The pills were hidden in the vehicle and motorcycles.
This arrest follows another drug-related arrest made on 8th August. On that day, a Thai national along with three Taiwanese men were all found to be carrying 688 sticks of heroin (233 kgs). They were captured in Bangna, Bangkok.
A warrant was previously issued for another drug mule known as Weeakom Sakulkitnanukul on 26th September. He is still on the run, although police have seized his 30 rai land and house in Karnkanok Village 2 in Chiang Mai, as well as his two cars, one motorcycle, some gold, some cash, and other assets worth about 10 million baht.
