Disaster Area Declared Due to Drought

CityNews – January 17th, The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Chiang Mai Provincial Office has declared disaster areas in Doi Tao and San Kamphaeng districts due to drought, affecting around 2,000 residents.


According to reports, Chiang Mai will continuously face severe drought conditions over the months to come.

Chiang Mai Governor Pawin Chamniprasart said compared to previous years, the drought conditions this year are the worst.

Every sector involved has been in meeting to find solutions and to get ready for the drought problems.

He also asked residents for cooperation to use water economically in order to have enough water during the drought season.
