CityNews – The Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University will host Pharmacy Week 2013 on 18th July.
The objective of the fair is to display the role and responsibility of pharmacists by providing knowledge about how to use medicines responsibly and effectively. This comes in wake of the recent dengue fever outbreak that has encompassed the city.
Nongyao Matnapan, the head of Medical Supplies at the Faculty of Medicine has said that people can suffer from health problems because of incorrect medicine usage. Some people, for example, stop taking pills like antibiotics as soon as their symptoms disappeared which can lead to antibiotic resistance. Others, on the other hand, took many too many pills in one sitting. This can lead to nasty side-effects.
At the fair, there will be medicine exhibitions, seminars about medicine and lots of fun and games.
