CMU Fine Arts students demand transparency over event budget

CityNews – 14th November 2019, around 10 am, over 100 Fine Arts students took to the streets in Chiang Mai University, with banners, as they marched to the office of the university to submit their request to inspect the management committee of Faculty of Fine Arts.

Their case is that the department of media arts and design was going to hold Media Arts and Design Festival 2019 (MUTATION) and requested a budget of 150,000 baht but the management committee of the faculty gave them only 5,000 baht.

Akhom Tantrakul, director of CMU corporate communication and alumni relations centre, being representatives of the president of CMU, received the request and brought the issue to the relevant management committee, inviting Assoc. Prof. Assawinee Wanching, Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts to look into the matter.  The students co rubies with a sit-in protest in front of the office.
