CityNews – 25th November 2019, Hod police station announced via Facebook about trickster gangs returning to the area to operate their illegal activities in Chomg Thong and Hod Districts. The two cases reported so far were from owners of the cars who had been squeezed by other cars who then demanded money.
In Chom Thong area, around 1 pm of 24th November, on the Hod – Chiang Mai Road in the area of Ban Huay Muang, police received a report from a victim that a black tone car and a white Honda car squeezed his car and demanded compensation of 7,500 baht. After they got the money, they fled the scene immediately.
In Hod area, around 5 pm of 25th November, on Hod – Doi Tao Road near a forestry office, another victim reported to the police that a white Honda with license plate of Bangkok drove to squeeze him and demanded 7,500 baht but he only had 2,000 baht and noticed that there were two other cars driving in front and behind the scene (while the one that squeezed him was driven by a man aged around 40 – 45 years old, well-proportion body, speaking standard central Thai.)
In both cases, the man who demanded money spoke threateningly and aggressively to the victims. Police have announced to people to be careful and in case of possibly being victims to phone the police in the area or call 191.
