At 8pm last night a crowd of over 200 people, mostly Burmese and their allies, staged a protest in front of the United States Consulate General against the recent coup in Myanmar.
Holding signs displaying ‘Help Myanmar’ and ‘Stand with Myanmar’, the protesters also held up images of Aung San Suu Kyi, calling for her release.
Protesters brought pots and pans, clanking them together symbolically as a way to ward off bad luck and evil.
The protest was peaceful and lasted just over one hour.
