CityNews – September 24th, According to Regional Irrigation Office 1, the amount of water in Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam, in Doi Saket, was at 29.776 million cubic metres or 11.32 per cent of the dam’s capacity. Authorities are deeply concerned that there may not be enough water saved up when the end of the rainy season arrives.
However, Regional Irrigation Office 1 has planned to encounter drought situations by cooperating with farmers to limit and manage areas for cultivation — to use water for the utmost benefit.
The dam provides water for farmers in Chiang Mai’s Doi Saket, San Sai, and Sankamphaeng Districts, as well as some other areas in Lamphun, totalling over 175,000 rai of land altogether.
