A 13 year old girl in mathayom 1 at a school in Mae Chaem district died this past Saturday while helping create a firewall during a community activity.
The incident happened when the girl joined students, teachers and many villagers in the mountains, working on a firewall. She began to vomit and then fainted, being rushed to the hospital where she died. Doctors said that she had a problem in her brain, but did not elaborate.
The district head of Mae Chaem yesterday visited the home of the young girl, taking a wreathe and donating some money to her family.
Her family say that they were devastated, but glad that she wa doing something good for the community in her last moments.
