CityNews – Authorities in Chiang Mai along with the help of Material and Manufacturing Engineering Researchers have begun testing on the moat water early this year in a bid to ensure safety for revelers during Songkran 2017.
On January 19, samples of the moat water was taken and sent for testing. Wastewater percentages and chemical levels will be measured and oxygen levels will also be tested.
Depending on those results, authorities will begin to treat the water by adding cleaning agents, and oxygenating agents in order to make the water clean and safe for locals and tourists to use during the Songkran festival.
