On 20th July deputy Chiang Mai governor Boonlue Thammatanurak and Pongsak Kaewsaenmueang, director of the Provincial Office’s strategy and information group, joined the construction inspection committee to review progress on the Khuang Luang Wiang Kaew development project in Mueang Chiang Mai district.
The project aims to turn the site into a historical public park in the heart of the city, under the concept “revealing the land to the Wiang Kaew area”. It has gone through public consultation, a design competition, archaeological excavation and design revisions to accommodate archaeological findings. Chiang Mai municipality handed over the site for construction based on the design that won the 2014 competition.
