A female tourist was rescued from a forest trail in the Khun Chang Khian area on the evening of 22nd June, after calling for help with a dying phone battery.
Chang Phueak police station received the distress call at around 4pm. Officers led by Superintendent Pol Col Sawek Chusiri, together with staff from Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, immediately deployed a search team including patrol officers and police cadet trainees. A drone, provided by Chiang Mai Provincial Police, was used to help locate the woman.
The operation concluded successfully within approximately one hour, with the tourist brought out safely.
Chang Phueak police are reminding visitors using nature trails to study their route in advance, inform someone of their plans before setting out, and avoid hiking alone.
