Asudden storm swept through the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) public park on the evening of Tuesday 21st April, sending vendor tents flying and scattering goods across the market area. A number of stalls were damaged in the squall, which lasted nearly half an hour.
Once the weather cleared, vendors pulled together to collect their belongings, reassemble their stalls and reopen for business. The market was back to normal not long after.
