Search continues for five missing in Mae Chaem landslide

Rescue efforts are ongoing at Ban Pang Ung in Mae Chaem District, where five people remain missing following a devastating flash flood and mudslide. The Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, along with volunteer rescue teams, have mobilized crew and heavy machinery to support the search. Backhoes are being used to clear debris from destroyed homes and blocked roads. The search is currently concentrated in areas where bodies were previously found.

The death toll remains at four, with five people still missing and fifteen injured, including two in serious condition. Meanwhile, the Mae Chaem District Red Cross has issued a call for donations of consumer goods and drinking water to support victims of the floods and mudslides. Donations can be made at the Mae Chaem District Community Hall.

According to the recent report, the floodwater level has dropped, and floodwaters have receded across the affected areas. The situation is gradually improving.
