Pioneering soy bean research by Chiang Mai University picked up by anti-ageing industry

Regional Science Park North, Chiang Mai University held a press conference to announce the licensing of its soy extract tablet and skin cream to Winona International Co., Ltd. The university also signed an MOU with the company to enhance research and development of health innovations for practical use in industry and society.

Assoc. Prof. Supanimit Teekachunhatean, M.D., Ph.D., Head of the Clinical Research Center for Food and Herbal Product Trials and Development (CR-FAH) and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Chiang Mai University, stated that the university has conducted research on the benefits of soy extracts for over 20 years. This research has been applied to develop soy extract products that are FDA-approved and patented.

This innovative of herb product helps reduce wrinkles, strengthen bones, and significantly lower blood cholesterol in menopausal women.

The collaboration represents a major step from university research to industrial and commercial applications. Further product development will aim to meet the needs of older consumers and enhance the quality of life.
