As prices for many vegetables have dropped recently, farmers in the highlands have been struggling to sell their vegetables. Wat Chedi Luang has therefore stepped in to buy, in bulk, 8,000 kgs of vegetables which they are now distributing for free to the city.
The aim is to help alleviate financial burdens for mountain people while also help subsidise and alleviate financial burdens for city folks. The temple representative said that this activity will also help create a bond between highland and lowland people. Anyone wanting some veggies can stop by the temple and pick some up.
