Residents of Pang Oong Village in Mae Chaem District, released images showing images of a recent landslide, carrying earth and uprooted trees, which surged down into the village without warning.

It has now been three days since the devastating flash floods and resulting landslides struck the area, claiming six lives. As of today, rescue teams from multiple agencies, together with local villagers and K9 units, continue tirelessly searching for three people still missing, while also working to restore damaged homes and repair power lines.

The Chiang Mai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office reported that 157 houses were damaged in the landslide. A total of 24 people were directly affected, with six confirmed dead, 15 injured, and three missing. Overall, 980 residents have been impacted by the disaster.

In Ban Na Hong, another affected village in Mae Suek, a flash flood destroyed the local bridge. Last night, monks had to cross the raging Mae Chaem River by cable in order to deliver a sermon at a funeral for one of the victims. Villagers placed the monk in a suspended basket and pulled the rope across, amid cheers and encouragement from onlookers.
