Police from Chang Phuak Police Station intercepted a man attempting to flee in a white car at the Huay Kaew Road traffic light intersection at around 3pm on 17th August, allegedly after investigators spotted a firearm inside the vehicle. It is unclear under what circumstances the firearm was first spotted.
Officers surrounded the car and forced the driver out, drawing a crowd of onlookers and tourists who filmed the scene. A search of the vehicle turned up a gun, a magazine and a set of knuckle dusters, all of which were seized as evidence.
The driver was taken into custody at Chang Phueak Police Station, where he remains under questioning as police continue investigating the weapon and related evidence before proceeding with legal action.
