Regarding a video clip showing an incident in which a man kicked a cat lying on the road, causing it to fall into the Mae Kha Canal, the owner of Nong Chok – the unfortunate victim, filed a complaint with the police. On June 6, 2025, the investigation team at Chiang Mai City Police Station identified the perpetrator as Chaisai, a 19-year-old Myanmar national residing in Doi Lor District.
From the initial investigation, Chaisai confessed that he was the person seen in the CCTV footage. He stated that on the night of the incident, he had been walking with friends along the Mae Kha Canal when he saw the cat lying in the road and impulsively kicked it into the canal, unaware that a security camera had recorded the act or that it would lead to serious consequences.
The police charged Chaisai with animal cruelty before taking him to the Chiang Mai City Police Station for further legal action.
