On the evening of 13th July, officers from Maeping Police Station were ordered to inspect business premises in the area to prevent emergencies, following a string of fires in various locations that have caused loss of life and property.
The Prevention and Suppression Division of Maeping Police Station has announced a heightened level of scrutiny for all types of business premises within its jurisdiction, aiming to put proactive measures in place to prevent and reduce the risk of fire incidents.
During the inspections, officers were focusing on key survival points, particularly exits and fire escape routes, which must remain clear and fully usable at all times, with no locking or blocking of these areas permitted. Emergency lighting systems and fire escape signage must also be in working order and clearly visible at night.
