The operation aimed to crack down on illegal activity, inspect migrant workers and monitor criminal behaviour within the community, with the goal of restoring public order and reinforcing confidence in law enforcement.
Following checks on more than 200 people in the area, officers registered 102 migrant workers and arrested seven people on a range of charges including overstaying visas, illegal entry and residence, working without a permit, failing to comply with officers’ lawful orders, and — in the case of property owners and occupants — failing to report foreign nationals residing on their premises as required by law.
Police ask residents who witness illegal activity or have relevant information to contact Mae Ping Police Station on 053-140-222 or the 24-hour hotline 191.
