On the 1st August at Wat Thong Noi in Mae On District, Phra Maha Adisorn Woramongkalo, the abbot, led a group of monks and novice monks at the temple in organising a monastic kitchen activity. Food was prepared and boxed before being distributed to disaster-affected people in the area, as well as to offer to other temples impacted by recent crises and hardships.
Today’s menu was stir-fried cabbage, served with hot steamed rice and clean drinking water.
Across the north, Many temples are leading the charge in organising such activities.
Phra Maha Adisorn Woramongkalo said, “In times of hardship, even something as small as a boxed meal can be a powerful source of emotional strength. We at the temple wish to be part of that support—not just to ease hunger, but to show that even in suffering, compassion still surrounds us.”
