A new chapter in Chiang Mai’s sporting landscape officially began on 30 June with the launch of M Sport Plus, a major new golf driving range and sports complex in Nong Chom, San Sai district. Developed by M Sport Complex Co., Ltd., the project represents an investment of more than THB100 million and aims to become Northern Thailand’s newest Sports & Lifestyle Destination.
Occupying more than 30 rai, M Sport Plus features 128 driving bays, extensive practice facilities, and modern training amenities designed to accommodate professional golfers, amateur players, beginners, junior athletes, and both Thai and international visitors.
The development has been conceived as more than just a golf practice venue. Built around the concept of a Sports & Lifestyle Destination, the complex combines sport, health, recreation, tourism, and community activities within a single destination, reflecting the growing demand for integrated lifestyle experiences in Chiang Mai.
Beyond daily practice facilities, M Sport Plus plans to serve as a centre for golf development, offering coaching programmes for youth and the wider public while also hosting tournaments, training camps, seminars, corporate events, and sporting activities ranging from local competitions to national and international events in the future.
The company believes the project will help strengthen Chiang Mai’s position as a leading destination for sports tourism, while supporting the province’s long-term ambition to become one of Thailand’s premier sports cities and an internationally recognised travel destination.
Economically, the development is also expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate related sectors, including hospitality, restaurants, transportation, tourism, and local service industries, creating wider benefits for surrounding communities.
The official opening ceremony took place on the evening of 30 June, welcoming guests to experience the new facilities through guided tours, premium practice sessions, and a spectacular simultaneous launch featuring illuminated golf balls struck from 60 driving bays, marking the venue’s official debut.
The opening of M Sport Plus highlights the growing role of private investment in developing Chiang Mai’s sports infrastructure, while promoting healthier lifestyles, expanding tourism opportunities, and contributing to the province’s long-term economic growth.
