Kongs are Kings of Huay Tung Tao
CityNews – Following the popularity of the family of giant straw King Kongs at Huay Tung Tao, authorities have started construction on a new addition to the diplay…a King Kong head.
Using 500 bamboo pieces, costing 200,000 baht this gateway Kong invites tourists to tie a string on the sculpture for good luck.
Touting this attraction as the location of the world’s largest family of straw King Kongs, authorities are now planning on an even bigger Kong – a six metre high, five metre wide, Kong Head right in the middle of the lake.
Around 500 visitors are expected per day to come and view this Kong-spectacle. In the dry months the Kong head will be accessible by a land strip and the two-storied head will be able to accommodate four people per each photo session. There will also be a bamboo walkway to the ‘Kong island’ and the area will have music, entertainment, food and drinks.
The new display officially opens on the 20th January.
