Heavy rains in Chai Prakan district on the evening of 3rd August triggered flooding and fallen trees across two subdistricts, according to the Chiang Mai Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office’s Fang branch, reporting at 9.30pm.
In Nong Bua subdistrict, a fallen tree blocked the road in Ban Pa Mai Daeng, Moo 9. Nong Bua Subdistrict Municipality dispatched disaster prevention officers to clear the debris, and the route has since reopened to traffic.
In Si Dong Yen subdistrict, overflow water affected around 30 households across Moo 1, 3 and 9 within Chai Prakan Subdistrict Municipality’s jurisdiction. Municipal officers have supplied sandbags, cleared drainage obstructions to speed up water flow, and helped residents move belongings to higher ground to limit damage.
