Residents of Muang’s Haiya sun-districts have pleaded with the municipality to tackle the drainage issues in the city, following heavy rains yesterday.
Some areas saw flooding with up to one metre of water, causing damage to homes and businesses and inconvenience for commuters and parents taking children to school.
The deputy governor has come out to give a general warning about flooding over the next few days, as rains are predicted until 25th or this month.
Rescue personnel are on standby for emergencies.
