Government Facilitates Mourners’ Visits to Bangkok

CityNews – The Ministry of Interior has prepared facilities for people from other provinces around Thailand who wish to pay respects to the late King, His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej, at Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall.

Thai citizens can sign in with village heads or sub-district offices all over the country to join regular groups to Bangkok, where they will receive all travel assistance as well as be accompanied by an official.

Private organiations wishing to travel in groups may receive information from provincial offices to coordinate travel the Ministry of Interior’s prepared facilities.

The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced that mourners may visit between October 29th, 2016 until January 20th, 2017 at Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall between 9am-4pm.

Residents of Chiang Mai join groups heading to Bangkok on October 31st, November 15th and 30th, December 15th and 30th, and January 14th, 2017. However, there is a limit for 600 people per province for each round.

For travellers from the north, there will be resting points at the 31st Military Circle Khai Jiraprawat at Nakhonsawan and at Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok. The Government Lottery Office on Ratchadamnoen Road, Bangkok will offer transportation to go to Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
