A truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire and exploded on the Chiang Mai-Lampang road in front of Singha Company in Yang Noeng subdistrict, Saraphi district, sending residents and passing motorists into a panic.
Rescue and fire crews rushed to the scene and closed off the surrounding area to prevent further accidents. It took around 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control, including gas cylinders that had scattered across the road.
No injuries or deaths were reported. Traffic has backed up heavily in both directions and motorists are advised to avoid the route while crews clear the scene and investigate the cause with the driver.
